BIOGRAPHY
Ajayi Ojo Adekunle's upbringing in Ekiti State immersed him in the rich tapestry of cultural rituals and traditions. Witnessing the use of statues in these rituals sparked his curiosity about their origins and the artisans behind them. This early fascination planted the seeds for his artistic journey. His quest for knowledge led him to Ajayi Ayodele, a mentor who deepened his understanding of artistry. Completing his primary and secondary education under Ayodele's guidance laid the groundwork for his pursuit of artistic excellence.
His educational voyage began at Polytechnic Ibadan, where he acquired his National Diploma. It was here that he laid the foundation for his artistic prowess. Subsequently, his transformative experience at Universal Studios of Art in Iganmu, Lagos, from 2017 onwards, became a pivotal moment. Immersed in this vibrant artistic community, he honed his craft, extending his stay to further refine his skills. This stint fortified his passion for art and sculpting.
Continuing his academic pursuit, he ventured to Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, culminating in his Higher National Diploma in 2021. These educational milestones solidified his technical expertise and artistic vision.
Today, as a full-time studio artist, Ajayi Ojo Adekunle continues to delve deeper into his creative expression, drawing from his rich cultural heritage and extensive training. His journey, woven with curiosity, mentorship, and dedication, fuels his ongoing growth as a professional artist.
